Cookie Heart Charm Necklace

Every girl loves to get jewelry for Valentines day.... and every girl loves cookies. What better idea than pairing the two ideas together? When I saw this post from Food Plus Words, I knew what project my kids and I would be doing this year for Valentines Day.

All you need is a basic cut out cookie recipe, frosting, some sprinkles and string. How wowed would you be if your received this adorable necklace from your child? These would make a fun gift for teachers, caregivers, grandmothers, aunties, or maybe your kid's secret crush?

I know my oldest has a girl he has been trying to impress for weeks. He has already asked if he can make one to give her on Valentines day. What six year old little girl wouldn't swoon for a cookie necklace?! I know my six your old self would have melted if I received something as cute as this from a handsome blue eyed boy!

Cookie Heart Charm Necklaces

1/2 batch of my favorite butter cookie dough
1/4-1/2 cup of your favorite frosting
Red string

On a lightly floured surface roll dough to be 1/8-1/4 inch thick. Using a small heart cookie cutter cut small hearts out. With a tooth pick pierce a small hole at the tops of each heart. Bake according to cookie directions.

Allow cookies to cool completely. Decorate as desired and place on your string.
