Want to know a little fun fact about me?
Well I am not sure I'd say it's fun... I do not own a dishwasher. *gasp* I KNOW! Seriously. Well actually let me rephrase that... I do not own a working dishwasher. And have not for the past 4 years! So as you can guess with the way I cook and bake, and with a family of five.... I do a LOT of dishes. Probably about 5-6 strainers full a day. I figured it out. I spend two hours a day 7 days a week standing at my sink staring out my kitchen window.
That's a lot of intellectual down time. My brain just turns off. When I get in my dish washing zone, I sometimes think of what ridiculous concoction I can create to wow you guys. Or what will make my husband swoon.
So this past Sunday, I was off my feet, laying flat... (herniated disk. Fun stuff) and I forced myself to get up and start moving around. I started with dishes. While standing there, I thought of something epic. I am sure others have done this exact thing but I have never seen it nor done it.
S'mores in dip form.
A dessert DIP. I have been itching to make some form of a sweet dip since my friend Megan posted this Pumpkin Cheesecake Crack Dip during my Pumpkin Week.
As soon as I was finished taking care of the dishes I emptied my cupboards trying to find the last of my marshmallows and any chocolate I could get my hands on. Lucky me I found both!
This dip is so easy, it's stupid really. This would be a great treat for a night of fun with the kiddos, birthday parties or even a sweet Game Day snack?
S'more Crack Dip
Ingredients:
2 cups of milk chocolate chips
1/4 cup of milk
2 cups mini marshmallows, divided
Graham crackers for dipping
Directions:
In a medium sauce pan add chocolate chips, and milk . Mix continuously over medium heat until melted and smooth. Using a rubber spatula, mix in 1 cup of mallows. Scrape chocolate mixture into a small casserole dish. Top with remaining mallows.
Place dish under you oven broiler for approximately 60 seconds or until the top has started to brown.
Dip your graham crackers and enjoy!!
Parenting tip of the day. Do not leave 4 and 5 yr old boys alone with S'more Crack Dip.
This will happen......
And then this....

This is a way to bring summertime into the winter...love it! My girls would LOVE this! Definitely going to have to try this with them! Yum!
ReplyDeleteI've heard this stuff is killer good. Need to try it! Looks great.
ReplyDeleteLooks amazing and love how the kids eat them!!!! We have a sleepover party this month....maybe this will be fun!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great, yummy idea, especially in the winter when you can't have a campfire! Love it :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute pic of your cutie, eating this creation! Love!!
ReplyDeleteThere's almost nothing I love more than s'mores! :) Delish!
This is a great recipe. Simple, delicious and inexpensive. Bravo!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness - this is definitely smores on crack! I may just make this for lunch :)
ReplyDeleteI think I could an entire bowl of this.
ReplyDeleteYou are brilliant!
ReplyDeleteThat dip is gorgeous but I am so distracted by you not having a dishwasher! Ugh. Do you at least drink wine while u wash...I would need it!
ReplyDeleteHahaha there are days a glass or two is deserved for an evening of scrubbing!
DeleteThats what husbands are for
DeleteThats what husbands are for
Deletethis is bangin like a biscut
DeleteYou are ruining my diet girl!
ReplyDeleteI'm drooling, really. Those photos make me want to get in my kitchen right now because my stomach is rumbling.
ReplyDeleteI hope your back is better!
Love your son, boy after my heart!
ReplyDeleteNo dishwasher, I don't know how you do it!
You know, I think if I owned a dishwasher I would be sure what to do with my free time haha.
DeleteCan you reheat it
ReplyDeleteI think it would be best if eaten right away. BUT I do think it would be quite yummy if you reheated it in either the oven or microwave.
DeleteHow is the consistency once it's cooled? Is it still runny or does it get super hard? I want to make it for a 4th of July party but i don't want it to be rock solid before I get there.
DeleteIt hardens slightly, and can be stored in the fridge. I reheated mine on 350° for anywhere from 6-10 minutes. Usually it takes about 15 minutes to cool. (Roughly)
Deleteno dishwasher?!!?!?!!? WHAT?!I would not cook if I had to do dishes. I have a weird touching food on used plates/silverware thing. Loading the dishwasher is awkward for me. And don't tell me to use gloves. I hate the way they feel as well. Clearly I have issues. I am so impressed you do that many dishes, but you need to get your dishwasher fixed!
ReplyDeleteOh my god Nicole. I BEGGED my husband to buy me a new one.... he was going to then I backed out because what's the point on spending the $ if we are moving soon. Next house is going to have a pimp daddy dishwasher....
DeleteFabulous recipe and I love those little chocolate covered hands, what a cutie.
ReplyDeleteOMGosh...you are a GENIUS!!!
ReplyDeleteUgh, I feel your pain with the dishes! Family of five as well without a dish washer.... paper plates and party cups as often as possible! I think I can muster the energy for a couple xtra dishes tonight for this dip tho.....
ReplyDeleteOh this looks delicious and is a must try on my list! Thank You for the recipe, mmmmm. Cheers!!
ReplyDeleteHow would one go about altering the recipe to make enough for around 40 people? This looks like the PERFECT dip to make for the party I am having tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteOh wow 40 people! I would quadruple the recipe. And try using a 9x9 casserole to serve it in.
DeleteI made this it is bangin like a biscut!
DeleteAlso, how many servings would you say the original dip yields?
ReplyDeleteI'd say this recipe is good for a group of 6.
DeleteThis looks so good! And I would probably be eating it the same way the boys did. lol
ReplyDeleteYum! You had me at crack.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Do NOT feel bad. I do not have (or use) a dishwasher either and actually, when I did have one I had such limited cabinet space I used the top rack for all my spices and the bottom rack as storage for large bulky pans. :) Great idea on the s'mores! On the idea list to try for the weekend!
ReplyDeleteThis was so yummy and so easy to make thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteTried this on the kiddos tonight...BIG HIT!! I was Super Mom for a couple of hours! Great idea for a special treat :0)
ReplyDeleteI tried this, and I promise I will NEVER make it again for just the hubz and I. We ate the ENTIRE thing and wanted more. I made it again and took it to a fellowship dinner. I needed to double it.
ReplyDeleteThank you so very much for sharing! I am sharing this on my blog, and linking back to you. I'm looking forward to trying your other recipes.
LOL Kim, when I first saw this comment in my box... all I read was I will NEVER make it again. And I was like....seriously? Who can hate this dip! But then I saw the rest... So glad you enjoyed it and thank you for sharing on your blog. :)
DeleteHi Carrie! This looks like heaven in food form! I want to make it for my daughter's birthday party next month but a quick question. Do you have to reheat at all? Does it hold up, without solidifying, over time (like a couple of hours)? Thanks! Pinning this to my board!
ReplyDeleteIt will harden as it cools. Not to a solid (because of the cream and marshmallow but it will get thicker) I would recommend perhaps microwaving to heat it back up.
DeleteThis will be the perfect dessert for Valentine's Day! My husband and I decided to just have a quiet dinner at home this year, and this sounds like it will hit the spot perfectly!
ReplyDeleteI just made this, it was a success!!!! Thank you :)
ReplyDeleteDo you think this would be good with peanut butter in it? I'm in love with peanut butter s'mores..........
ReplyDeleteOH my goodness YES! I would add the PB to the chocolate and marshmallow on the stove. Perhaps a 1/4 cup??
DeleteAwesome! I'll be trying it tomorrow and let you know how it goes!! Thanks ! :)
DeleteHi I'm Heather! Please email me when you get a chance, I have a question about your blog! LifesABanquet1(at)gmail.com
ReplyDeleteHi Heather, any questions can be emailed to me at carrie @ bakeaholicmama . com
DeleteBrutally delightful!
ReplyDeleteI have a family of 6 and have never owned a dishwasher! I am a baker (for my job) and at home I cook big meals and bake for my family often! I seriously cant believe the amount of dishes I do every week between that and laundry I really don't have time to get other cleaning done! Anyway I don't hear of many others that don't have dish washers so when I wanted to look at your yummy recipe that was the first thing I read that caught my eye! Cant wait to make this dip for the kids! Doesn't look like it will dirty yo many dishes either :)
ReplyDeletePeople think I am crazy when I tell them we don't have one. I spend so much time at the sink and at my stove.... other house work get's pushed aside too often! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! ~ Carrie
DeleteGarden Club ladies are in for a treat tomorrow evening! This looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteThinking about making this for a gathering. Do you think putting it in a crock pot on "Warm" would keep it the right consistency without scorching the chocolate?
ReplyDeleteDelicious! My daughters inhaled this. Next time I will have to make a double batch so me and my husband can have some.
ReplyDeleteHello
ReplyDeleteThat looks really yummy:)
So I tried this for the pot luck at work. Everyone went crazy over this! Thanks for the clever idea
ReplyDeleteI just made this with semi sweet chocolate chips (that's all we had) and we use teddy grahams to dip wow is all I can say so delicious!
ReplyDeleteTHis looks great!!!! The warning at the end made me giggle. Soo cute. I may do this recipe for my daughters graduation party! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeletelol... looks yummy and yep, I can see that happening with any child@@@
ReplyDeleteYUM! Can you make it with semi sweet chips too? Or does it have to be milk chocolate??
ReplyDeletequick easy and the kids LOVE it!!
ReplyDeleteReally fantastic! Thank you for sharing the recipe!!!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE your advice about not leaving the kids alone with the dip. :)
ReplyDeletei want to try this recipe but does it call for 1 tsp. of milk or 1 Tbsp. of milk
ReplyDeleteThe recipe is correctly written above, it calls for two tablespoons of milk. :)
DeleteI think this would taste good with added Peanut Butter and Graham Cracker crumbs in it, like the peanut butter bars recipe, or a s'mores peanut butter Bar recipe. with the marshmallow's melted in between the peanut butter and chocolate, or incorporated into the peanut butter mix. If you do end up trying this can you post the recipe?
ReplyDeleteYea another use for my Brie warmer! Can't wait to try this. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThank you SO much for this amazing idea! I am throwing a birthday party in a few weeks and needed some snacks, and this is absolutely perfect, because I wanted to have smores, but the only way I can is by using a microwave, which is never as good as the real thing! This is a lifesaver! Thank you again and keep up your AMAZING work! :)
ReplyDeleteThe other night we tried this recipe and LOVED it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!

How do you think this would do with almond milk? Would it be to thin to use? I have a dairy allergic child and try to recreate recipes she can have. Thanks!

add peanut butter.
ReplyDeleteHi! Love your site! Would you happen to know where I could get the recipe for a chocolate brownie with a cheesecake type thing in it, with a thin fudge topping (like the Christmas candy type fudge)? I tried this decadent creation at a Christmas party one time, and would love the recipe, if you've heard of it. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI think the name of this post says it all!
ReplyDeleteLol! You crack me up girl! :) So funny that you describe doing dishes the way you do bc I have said the same thing all my life! I do have a dishwasher But I don't use it to often...why bc I truly enjoy doing dishes! When I go to my step mom and my dads they don't have a dishwasher and normally there are several of us kids and our kiddos so LOTS of dishes to do! Make fun of me if you will guys but I Love it and I'll fight for the sink!!
ReplyDeleteHow big is that dish that is in your pictures? I am thinking about some creative gift ideas and having this in their own little container with instructions could always be fun. almost like the cookies in a jar type of thing. This looks delicious. I am definitely going to try that this weekend. =) Thank you!
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of dish is in the picture and how big is it? I am thinking about creative gift ideas, almost like cookies in a jar type of thing. I could do it with this. =) I am definitely going to try this recipe this weekend. Cannot wait! thanks!
ReplyDeleteWow, I ca only imagine what my 3 year old would do if left alone with this awesome dip. Oh forget him - what about what I would do if left alone with it ;-)
ReplyDeleteThat's how my hubby eats graham crackers, but he dunks the while thing in milk.
ReplyDeleteMade this. It was eaten by two teenage girls and a 10 year old girl within the hour. I mean GONE
ReplyDeleteYou can make this dairy and gluten free just fine. Most store brand marshmallows are okay (always, always read labels), and there are a couple of brands of chocolate chips that are fine, and soy free as well. I have used the enjoy life brand, and they are acceptable; Tropical Traditions is advertising a new line on their website that looks really good. You can buy GF graham crackers and/or pretzels through the Glutino brand that are very good, but cost a lot and do contain soy. GF cookies should work well. I'll probably just use a spoon :-)
ReplyDeleteI forgot to say that the almond milk will work fine, just make sure not to scald it (boiling).
ReplyDeletePerfect Game Day dessert! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteGo Brady.
I've made this for cook outs, pitch-ins at work, slumber parties, family movie nights, and just for the heck of it. It is devoured every time! We love it and its super simple!! Thank you!!
