Joy Wilson aka Joy the Baker has even joined our group! How exciting right?! She even checked out a scone post here and there. We are all a little star struck when it comes to Joy.... And it makes our day to see that she has seen and likes what we are all doing!

This week the recipe I assigned everyone was Joys Brown Butter Blueberry Muffins.

In her book she say's they are like heaven. They are.

They really are THE perfect muffin.

I know you are all thinking... it's just a blueberry muffin.

No friends.... this is not just A muffin.

It's THE best blueberry muffin you will ever have.

It might even change the way you look at muffins.

I'm pretty sure I will use this is my base from now on for ALL muffins. I see so many types in my future and I can't wait to try the combos.

The batter has a depth given to it from the brown butter, so you have a slight hint of caramel. It's perfectly sweet but not to sweet that the muffin itself over powers the berries. The crumb top.... oh the crumb top is my favorite!

I was a fool and did not follow Joy 100% on this one... I mixed up the crumb topping and started sprinkling it over the tops of my muffins. It looked like too much topping so I stopped. And I didn't use it all.  :( when my  muffins were out of the oven I was bummed... they needed more topping.

WHY DIDN'T I LISTEN TO JOY! Live and learn.... her recipes really don't need to be fudged with.

I also used frozen Wild Maine Blueberries... nothing wrong with using frozen in this recipe and Joy gave it a thumbs up. But next time, fresh berries are being used in mine.

 Fresh is always best!

Unlike most of my posts, today I will not be sharing the recipe to these change your life Brown Butter Blueberry Mufins. Instead I ask that if you want to try them.... please get your own copy of Joy the Baker Cookbook : 100 Simple and Comforting Recipes.
