Spiced Pumpkin Latte... Who needs Starbucks

It is a cold morning up here in NH.... 37 when I woke up. I pulled out the wool knee socks and whipped up a quick and easy Spiced Pumpkin Latte to make me feel warm and fuzzy!

Homemade Spiced Pumpkin Latte

1 cup milk ( I use 2% but you can use whole or skim...whatever your fancy)
1 tbs pumpkin puree
1 shot of extra strong coffee or espresso
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1 tbs of sugar ( you can use other sweeteners as well and as little or as much as you like)

In a sauce pan over low heat, warm your milk pumpkin vanilla, and pumpkin pie spice, sugar till it's just hot but not boiling!

With an immersion/hand blender, blend till its nice and frothy.

Transfer to your favorite mug.

Add in coffee/espresso.

Perfect pairing to go with these...... Pumpkin Scones

Save a penny or two... skip Starbucks make it at home instead!

  1. Carrie,
This sounds divine..whipping out knee socks (as I also did this morning) then mixing up a pumpkin latte :)

  2. This recipe is an answer to my culinary prayers! I love pumpkin lattes but am always worried about the sugar content. I will try this using agave nectar. I also wonder how it would do in a crockpot to stay warm if you were having brunch with the ladies??? I'll have to try it post-haste!

  3. hmmm I'm not sure how it would do in the crock pot. Because it is milk based I'd keep a close eye on it so it doesn't curdle. I just saw a post for pumpkin white hot chocolate... these hot pumpkin drinks have got me obsessed!!

  4. I've made it in the crock pot before. I heated it on high and then switched it to keep warm. Crockpot365.blogspot.com did it that way too.

  5. I plan to make this for my Sunday crowd. I need guidance on the amount of coffee to use since I plan on brewing coffee at home (Starbucks Cinnamon Natural Fusions). I am thinking I will need enough for 4 XL lattes. Please email me at jackie.anne.wilson@gmail.com
