Maple Apple Sauce With A Twist

My husband picked me up a half peck of fresh apples today.  We all love hot homemade applesauce... its the easiest fall treat.


8 cups pealed  and chopped apples
2/3 a cup of maple syrup
2/3 a cup of hard cider (I used Woodchucks) If you do not have hard cider use regular or even apple juice would work.
1 tsp cinnamon


Combine all of your ingredients in a 2 qt sauce pan.

Over medium/low heat let simmer for about 15-20 minutes until the apples start to fall apart. Take a potato masher and give it a quick mash... the longer you mash the more smooth it is.

I like a chunky sauce so I don't go to crazy.
