Pie Meets Fruit Crisp.... Dutch Apple Cherry Pie

There is nothing better in the fall then a hot fruit crisp or an apple pie.

This yummy Dutch Apple Cherry Pie has the benefits of both of my favorite fall desserts. The flaky buttery pie crust, warm tart fruit, sweet syrupy goodness, with a crunchy oat streusel top??!!

Yes please!!

Dutch Apple Cherry Pie

Single pie crust
4 apples pealed and chopped
1/2 cup pitted cherries
The zest of 1 lemon
The juice of 1/2 a lemon
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/8 corn starch
1/8 cup flour

Steusel Top Ingredients:
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup room temp butter
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon

Preheat oven to 400.
Roll crust out and place in pie or tart pan, roll your rolling pin over the top to trim the extra crust or crimp you edges.

In a medium bowl mix fruit and other filling ingredients together.

Fill uncooked pie crust with filling. In a separate bowl mix all of the streusel ingredients together. Sprinkle/press into the top of pie.

Bake for 30-40 minutes till the top is golden brown and the crust is cooked through.

Allow to cool 30 minutes before cutting. Serve with ice cream!
